Jannis Leidel is the newest Django core committer and has been active in the community since his time as a summer of code student in 2007. He mentored and organized for the GSoC ever since, is a Pinax core developer and the author of a number of pluggable Django apps. He also heads the DjangoCon Europe 2010 conference in Berlin as chairman.

Originally trained as a new media artist he enjoys freelancing as a web engineer under the umbrella of enn.io.
